Description of General Cleaning
What we do in the house is a good thorough general cleaning and we follow a very specific routine we have developed over the years.
In the kitchen we start at the top and catch the cobwebs around the corners of the ceilings, clean the exterior of the cabinets, and clean the exterior of the appliances. We also clean off the entire counter top surfaces including the items on the top of the counters. We wipe the drip pans, the inside of the microwave, scour the sink and then wash the floor by hand. In the bathrooms, we scour the sink, the tubs & showers, scour and sanitize the toilets, clean the mirrors, soap dishes, counter tops, and we clean the exterior of the cabinets and wash the floor in there as well.
When we clean the kitchen, bathroom and foyer hard surface floors, what we do first is vacuum them with a canister vacuum (that’s to get up the loose dirt) then we wash them on our hands and knees.
The dusting we do in several trips around each room. The first time around is with what we call a cobwebber, to catch the cobwebs as well as dust the wall hangings, ceiling fans, and light fixtures that are within reach. We also dust the windowsills, mini-blinds and baseboards using that same tool.
Then we go around the room and dust the tops, sides and legs of all the furniture, as well as items—like knick-knacks—on top of furniture.
We vacuum the upholstered furniture and then vacuum our way out of each room! Also, as part of the cleaning, we take the trash out throughout the home and wash the front storm door and one patio door inside and out.
As to how we clean, we send one person into your home to clean and they bring with them all the equipment and supplies they need to clean. We ask you to leave a check the day of the cleaning.
